Diabetes Pilot Pro App Bewertungen

Hasn’t been updated for 5 years

Was good back in the day, but with 5 years gone by without an update, I recommend you look elsewhere.

Food Search engine

I have been a long time user of this app. It really is great and it is so helpful. I recently stated using a new app called Glucose Direct. The app takes data from my Libre3 Linkup account and adds the readings to my calendar so it displays on my watch face. One of the added benefits I found was the data is shared with the Apple Health app which Diabetes Pilot also shares with. This sharing results in my minute by minute glucose readings from my CGM are then entered into Diabetes Pilot. This make the reports and grafting in Pilot so much better and I now have a much better view of all my intake and results of insulin taken. I’d like to ask if there is a way you can update the food search engine. Currently when I enter a word into the search engine it list every item in the data base that contains that word, often in a random manner. More words do not narrow the search, it often makes the results bigger.

App doesn’t work with iPhone version 16.1.1

This app used to work without a problem. I updated to iOS 16.1.1 and it no longer will do anything except enter glucose readings. Clicking on Task or More and it closes. I have tried to report this but have not heard back.

I’m canceling my subscription.

I have been using this app for a very long time. Actually I originally ran it on a palm pilot before cell phones. I really like it but I’ve recently developed a problem. I’ve contacted their support several times and all I get back is an automated message saying they have received my email. Apparently they don’t care. I agree with the person who said he thought the developer had sold the app to someone who only bought it to generate money.

Needs update badly

This was the best app I had for years. Now it is virtually useless with the new IOS versions. Many of the features do not work (ex: food) and it continually crashes. If the developers do not update a soon, I will be forced to cancel my subscription & look elsewhere.

Needs update desperately. Developers do not respond.

08 Jul 2022 I have this app on both iPad/iPhone and Mac. It works OK; however, the developers have not made any major advancements it the app such as interfacing it to AppleHealth. Categories are difficult to maintain, food list are a real pain since all devices have different UIs. After using this, recommending it to others including diabetes educators and counsellors for over 6 years, i just feel that the developer fails to see the benefits of improving the app and is deaf to user suggestions. So I have cancelled the subscription and have started testing three others to replace it.

Now completely unusable!!!!!!!!!!!!

As of June 2021, unusable due to app delays between each entry. I unsubscribed today, so sad as it used to be my favorite diabetic app ever. Fix it and I’m back.

Good product, reasonably priced

Quick data entry.

Everything you need to be in control.

More than your bg readings, Diabetes pilot pro includes medications nutrition, and exercise. It's more than valuable, it's priceless.

Searchin’, Searchin’

Very useful but searching the food list is a nightmare. Let’s say that I search for bologna, brand x. After searching past bologna, bologna and cheese, umpteen fast food places; it finally shows up, EXACTLY HOW I ENTERED IT!!! You could at least separate eating out and home cooking and have a true alphabetical list.

too complicated

could not for the life of me figure it out, and it was oretty close what I was looking for except for fiber and water watching. Everything was there, but I could scan labels, but then had to manually input the info that was on the labels, why? Favorites, no clue what the trick was to input my regular stuff one time and nor repeat.

No support

I had an issue with the app and emailed support and never got a response. If you’re paying $12 a year for a subscription you should get some response, any response! The quest for a better app continues.

Classic was better

Used the classic version for years, had to switch because it was no longer supported. All the functions are great except the search function for foods is terrible!

A great app ruined to scrape extra $$

Diabetes pilot used to be a great app - I paid $11.99 for it and it was worth it, I could look up foods, track carbs, track meds and blood sugars, my blood pressure, weight, etc. Then they added a paid subscription for the foods list updates - no biggie, I don’t need that, the default food list works fine for me. Then they started to remove feature for non subscribers - taking away things that I had formerly available. Now the only free thing that works is the basic blood sugar entry - and apple’s free health app does that better. I am very disappointed and will be removing this app and switching to a different one immediately.

I was happy with it....

I thought this was a great app when I downloaded it AND PAID $9.99 for It!!! I thought it was a bit steep but I figured I would get my money’s worth. Yeah right. Till one day I open the app to record something when all of a sudden I could not get into 3/4 of the functions. Apparently, you need to have a subscription to be able to use it or access your information? I was not happy about that at all. Why would they not tell you ahead of time, before you paid for the app, that it was going to cost you a fee? And, I don’t know if that is monthly fee, it does not specify. Beware, unless you like to pay for subscriptions for something you already paid for. I take it back. It does say. It says $2.99 per month or $12.00 a year. Still not fair!

I recommend this app

Really a great product for diabetics and non-diabetics alike. I recommend this product to all of my diabetic patients. The app goes further than the traditional health care apps on the market.

Very Helpful

This is a great app. The reports are good to give to the doctor to analyze and adjust insulin doses for each meal.

Great app

Allows me to keep track of glucose levels, carbs, exercise. Use it everyday.

Good overall

I've been using the Classic version for years. However, it will no longer be supported by Apple on their next rev SW, so I'm on Pro now. I really like the protein and fiber correction factors for insulin bolus calculations. Very important! But I am disappointed that there is only a single Insulin/Carb ratio and ISF factor. There ought to be several. Nevertheless I will faithfully use this program daily to help keep my diabetes under control.

Great Help

It is a great help in me accomplishing what my Doctor wants me to do. It's has helped me in keeping track of my carbs. Just love it.

A great intermediary for/with my doctor

A picture is worth a thousand words; I can graph my glucose records for any period I like or a period the doctor would like.

Paid for it.

Using it daily for several years but am looking for something with a watch app. Can you implement that soon? Blood sugars with categories and medicines with categories via a watch complication would be truly great!!! I'll continue looking here and elsewhere...

Possibilities are great but needs some bugs worked out

I have been looking for an app that logged meals, exercise AND glucose readings and was so excited to try Diabetes Pilot. I have a Tandem T:slim with integrated G4 and while I always have access to current glucose readings, the pump and CGM don't have the capability to show readings for a certain time (I.e 2:03 am when it's currently 9:50 am). Diabetes Pilot exports the data from dexcom share (need the dexcom app running on phone). This app also allows users to log meals (similar to MyFitnessPal with just as extensive database) which negates me having to use another app to track meal counts. Diabetes Pilot has the ability to chart/graph your glucose for any time period you choose (want to see 'where' your sugar tanked while sleeping). The downside, the app is incredibly SLOW and locks up while using it about 50% of the time. I spent 3 minutes trying to add a food from the database before finally giving up and exiting out. It stalls, A LOT. The Add exercise feature is weird. It only gives the option for walk and the value (what should be 'time') is undefined. It's just an empty block. Where are the other exercise choices? That being said, if the developers could work on the lag/lock up issue and possibly integrate data from MapMyRun, I would pay the yearly fee For a subscription.

Love this app. Just the right amount

After a long search for the right diabetic health tracking app I was glad to find diabetes pilot. It makes tracking food a breeze with its's scanner function, and it also tracks just the right other help information in a way that's easy to use. It is far more helpful than Apple's health kit

DiabetesPilot

I use this program everyday and at least 4 x's a day. If I didn't have this program to keep track of where I was - I just don't think I'd be healthy! This program is easy to use, tracks everything...the food I eat, the insulin I take, my weight etc. if you don't know the ratio of insulin to take for carbs, ask your healthcare staff, they will help you! Love love love this program ❣❣❣

Diabetes Pilot Pro

Great glucose tracker and syncs flawlessly to my iMac.

Love it!

Perfect tool for tracking my glucose. I use it every day

Needs improvement

I've been using this app for two years now and I very rarely update either the iOS or macOS version. I want to keep using it but I would like to have it share the data more efficiently.

This is good diabetes management tool but....

This is a good diabetes management tool/software. It allows you to scan food information off of the UPC code of a product however, it would be nice to be able to take that scanned information and save it as a favorite food. I have not found a way to do that and it is a pain to enter the food information in manually. It would also be nice to be able to import information from another software products such as calorie King which has a more for boast database of foods and his updated much more frequently then the database in diabetes pilot pro. I hope someone from diabetes pilot pro reads this review and makes these changes that would make us who are diabetic our life easier to manage using their software product.

Extend your life for now much money !!!

Could not live without this program . Drs love it . Accurate history in graphic display . Maybe I could live without it after two years . But not as long

Great app.

Great app used several different versions including desktop.

Must have wifi to fully use

Sadly must be online to use any help parts like foods u use often. It will NOT save scanned nutrition to the program even foods you eat regularly. You have No way to save scanned foods which makes this useless to help diabetics.

Scan, cook, add to data base

The iPhone works better than the I-pad version plus iPhone can set custom alarms to glucose when you do not eat on a schedule. Exercise module needs expansion to measure time and pace or distance,

Don't get sucked in--way too expensive!

I paid $30 for this app because I wanted an app that generated reports on not only my glucose, but also my weight and a food diary to track my consumption. This appeared to be the app I was looking for. The food diary reports fail to calculate the quantity of consumption but instead reports a full measurement of portion (eg if I ate 1 slice of cheesecake the food diary reports show the nutritional value of an entire pie!). Even though the daily totals show correct portion size the report generated does not. Also, if the $30 wasn't enough to pay for this app, they hit you with an additional monthly/yearly 'subscription' rate if you want to record weight. Don't get sucked in!

Best and only effective tool that does why it does & outstandingly...

I've been a Type 1 diabetic for 36 years and this app is an A+. While there's room for improvement, that speaks even more clearly this app is the only one with an architecture that can be built upon for garner future improvements in technological innovation. While this app is by far the best, my strong recommendation is keep improving it as believe it will become even immensely better in the near future if the team that designed this great app continues to seek opportunities for improvements from customers, physicians specifically endocrinologists and the industry as a whole! Thanks for an app that significantly improved my health, life and overall well-being!

Data bases need improvement Favorite should be easier to add

Very good

Being diabetic for 52 years I have found that this app is the best and easiest to use. Great keep up the good work.

Mr.

Four star for the content categories Program won't orient on I-pad Program won' always load

A very useful app

I have been using the mobile version of Diabetes Pilot for many years. I find the app essential when preparing for a meeting with my Endocrinologist or diabetes counselor. However, the data logging is too tedious for long term use. The food data base, however, is very helpful for daily use. The desktop version is not that much of a step up in utility, and is not worth the extra cost to me. The reports and graphs are much prettier than those in the mobile version. I find emailing selected records to my desktop lets me format the data to my liking rather than relying on the formatting in the app.

Could be so good, but lots of rough edges

I was excited to try Diabetes Pilot because years ago I loved the Palm Pilot version of this app. I am extremely disappointed. I am trying to do some logging for my next diabetic checkup and will probably try another app after a few days. It has so many rough edges, and doesn’t give you a level of confidence that your data is not going to disappear. What I love: - Scan is fantastic. Just scan a UPC label and you get your food found. I love that. Issues: - The sync to the Health app, and my CGM data from there is broken. Health does see my CGM data, but Diabetes Pilot has stopped importing it. It did grab some data from several months ago. Bizarre. - Numerous crashes and database errors, I’m always scared I am going to lose my data - Data does not show up all the time, switching filters several times seems to be the workaround - Recording data is not dead simple as the old Palm Pilot app - Duplicating meals is impossible - I’ve tried to save meals and just can’t figure it out - Searching for food is bizarre, it gives too many options from packaged and restaurant sources for my workflow - The Food DB organization is bizarre and not very useful - Setting up standard meals is impossible, I’ve tried several times with no luck - The UI is unnecessarily complex

Diabetes Pilot Pro is a great app

I have used diabetes pilot for several years. The upgrade to pro was a nice improvement to the original app.

Love it, but

I love this app, but... I really wish there was an Apple Watch app that I could use to enter glucose levels into the app. How about, any chance?

Love the food database

I tried several other apps but none of them was as easy to use as this one. The extensive food database was the real selling point for me.

Food Database/Pro version

Unfortunately, scanned labels are not saved in favorites. They have to rescanned repeatedly every time the item is consumed and recorded. This would be a feature worth developing, Digital Altitudes LLC. Additionally, Pro version does not have app, once purchased, does not require, a monthly subscription.

Not bad, auto renewal- nope

I found the program very easy to use and a quick way to enter data. In "food" the scan (upc label) worked very well to find and auto enter a serving into the data. The graphing features, need improvement. There is no way to scale the "X" axis (glucose data), so you get 20 (think you'd be dead?) to 200+ and only day, week, month on the "Y". I am deleting this app due to the auto renewal. Would I pay 11.99/ year for this program ? Probably if I thought they would make some improvements I want. However, I will NOT agree to any "automatic" renewal. That's why I stopped my satellite radio subscription. Too bad, bye bye diabetesPilot.

Love it so far

I have been using the app for less than a month, but love it so far. Very easy to use entry and the output graphics seem to be more than enough for review with my doctor. Nice job!

The BEST Diabetes App!

I have been using DP for over four years. Recently upgraded and went pro. Kept old version because old records did not go over to the new app. GET IT!

A little buggy on the ipad

But still the greatest diabetic assistance around. The updated favorite foods functionality is worth its weight in gold. Keep up the good work.

Well worth the price

The food database is massive and the app contains the most common data you'll need.
